Study visit no 1 – Innovative Energy Solutions

The study tour covers how the City of Gothenburg deals with energy saving with examples from three different projects. FED – the Fossile-free Energy Districts project, HSB Living Lab and Celsius - smart heating and cooling. Listen to experts within the City of Gothenburg and learn more of the projects.
FED – Fossil-free Energy Districts
The FED project is an innovative effort to decrease the use of energy and the dependence on fossil fuel in a built environment. FED is a unique local marketplace for electricity, district heating and cooling. Learn more >

How should we live in the future? HSB Living Lab is a research and demonstration arena which also includes homes for students and guest researchers. The building are located on the Chalmers campus in Göteborg, Sweden. Learn more >
Celsius –smart heating and cooling
Gothenburg has taken the leading coordinating role in the EU Project Celsius – Smart Heating and Cooling. The project aim is to share knowledge and network building in developing smart district energy systems across Europe. What will be the next step after this project? Learn more >

ElectriCity – Emission-Free Transport
How about a bus route with quiet, emission-free vehicles, powered by renewable electricity, which picks up passengers indoors? It is a reality in Gothenburg, in the demo project ElectriCity. RISE – the Swedish Research Institute
The head office of the institute is situated in Gothenburg, at Lindholmen Science Park. RISE is working with the public sector and the industry to create innovation solutions. Safety and transports is one of their six divisions of priority. Learn more >
Volvo Demo Arena, Frihamnen
At Frihamnen, Volvo AB has built a testing arena environment for research, innovation and education within the areas Transport, ICT and Media. We will end the program in that specific built arena, and see the autonomous bus driving together with Volvo AB.
